Highlights
Children must be in the state’s care with the Department for Community Based Services (DCBS). From there, DCBS assigns the child a social worker, who can request Residential Treatment at Home of the Innocents. Depending on availability, we may or may not approve this request.
Program participants must be younger than 18 years of age.
Every case is different, but on average, residents remain in our program for 3-6 months.
Each child receives an individualized treatment plan, including the latest in one-on-one therapies and medical oversight. Residents attend school, enjoy field trips, share in household chores, and play with their peers.
Depending on their unique situations, residents see a variety of next steps after completing treatment at the Home. Some are reunited with their natural families or an extended family member, while others are given a chance with a new family through our Therapeutic Foster Care program. Those who reach age 18 in our care may go on to pursue independent living.
