Custody Exchanges
Safe Exchange is a free program providing a safe and secure location for supervised custody exchanges.
Through our Safe Exchange program, we manage the exchange of children between parents with a history of, or potential for, high co-parenting conflict, including but not limited to: domestic violence, protective orders, no-contact orders, and other challenging dynamics.
Any family with ongoing safety concerns is welcome to utilize Safe Exchange. A current or prior EPO/DVO is not required to participate in our program.
To initiate services, both parents must complete an intake appointment with the Safe Exchange Manager. All exchanges must be confirmed in advance with the Safe Exchange Center.
During custody exchanges, guardians do not have contact with one another. Instead, a Home of the Innocents team member accompanies the child from one guardian to the other.

Team members of our Safe Exchange program and security staff supervise all guardians, children, and other participants while they are on our campus to ensure everyone remains safe and in compliance with any active protective/no-contact orders. Both guardians will remain on campus for the entirety of the exchange, so the child(ren) will never be without a guardian.
