Emergency Shelter with Treatment
When a child is removed from an unsafe situation, the Home steps up to the plate.
Whatever the cause — a serious domestic incident, a child wandering the streets alone at 3 am, or left home alone for days on end — the Home is there to answer the call.
The Home is available to receive children 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. Kids stay in our emergency shelter until a more permanent and suitable situation is found.
In situations like these, most kids don’t just stay overnight: the average stay in our emergency shelter is more than 33 days. In most cases, the kids in our emergency care will continue going to their regular schools or attend our onsite school. Many also receive medical treatment and therapy.
