What is Parent Education?
Kids don’t come with instruction manuals. That’s why parent education is so important.
Parent education promotes the use of positive parenting practices, such as using positive language, planned discipline, and family routines. It also encourages nurturing behavior and increases parents’ knowledge of child development and communication styles.
Our Curriculum
Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) is a parenting program designed to prevent and treat behavioral and emotional problems in children. Triple P helps parents learn strategies that promote children’s social competence and self-regulation. These strategies increase parents’ confidence and enhance their ability to handle the everyday stresses of raising children.
Triple P practitioners are trained to provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment for parents to improve their parenting skills. The parent education program consists of a 9-week program with a single 2-hour class per week.
Everyone is welcome to take our parenting courses. This is a free program designed to benefit all parents.
Offered at no cost to participants, this program is funded in part under a contract with the Cabinet for Health and Family Services through Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky using state funds allocated by the Kentucky General Assembly via contract number PON2 763 2200003127.
