Emmory Shipley, Communications Coordinator
Dr. Manasa Musunuri is our new Director of Psychiatry at Open Arms Children’s Health. Dr. Musunuri joined our team in July. The mission and vision of the Open Arms Children’s Health, which is primarily based on integration of care, made her decision to work at the clinic clear and easy. She believes in a multifaceted approach to pediatric mental health, integrating and providing comprehensive care.
Dr. Musunuri loves working with children and their caregivers as much as she enjoys the challenges they bring. She receives a great sense of satisfaction to see favorable outcomes for the patients. The positive impact Open Arms has on the children’s lives and those around them is dear to her heart and makes her work worthwhile.
She provides comprehensive Psychiatric care for her patients in an empathetic and professional manner. Her belief is that the overall wellness of the child depends on not just one facet of health, but encompasses and requires a global approach. Dr. Musunuri’s care is driven by the mantra of mental health being a vital part of overall wellness and an important determinant in building a healthy society.
Dr. Musunuri received her Medical degree from NTR University of Health Sciences (India). After receiving her degree, she completed Residency training in Psychiatry at Richmond University Medical Center (New York). She then pursued a Fellowship degree in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The University of Louisville. She is double board certified in General Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
Outside of work, Dr. Musunuri loves spending time with her family and enjoys nature in its purest form. She also enjoys all forms of art, especially painting on canvas.
