Meet the Open Arms team: Alicia Edmiston
Emmory Shipley, Communications Coordinator
Alicia Edmiston, MS, is an Occupational Therapist at Open Arms Children’s Health. She joined the team because she believes comprehensive care provided by Open Arms is the key to prosperous health. She is grateful to work at Open Arms because of the positive impact its services have on the community.
To Alicia, the most enjoyable part of her job is helping children and their families reach their goals through therapy. When a child’s functional participation in daily activities improves, the whole family’s quality of life elevates. Alicia appreciates working with a therapy team that is just as enthusiastic about pediatric care as she is.
Alicia attended the University of Louisville for two years before transferring to Spalding University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Health Science and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy.
Alicia is an active member of the American Occupational Therapy Association, as well as the Kentucky Occupational Therapy Association. She is a certified Interactive Metronome (IM) provider and completed additional training on IM Pediatric Best Practices.
Outside of work, Alicia enjoys teaching dance, playing the violin, traveling, hiking, camping, and spending time with her friends and family.
