Kosair for Kids Grants $260,197 for Kosair Charities Pediatric Convalescent Center
Rennay Marshall, Vice President of Public Relations
As a nonprofit, Home of the Innocents relies on grants and donations to provide the care and service those who come to us for assistance require. We partner with several organizations and private donors to supply everything from basic needs, such as food, clothing, and personal hygiene products, to enrichment activities like community outings to the Science Center, Kentucky Kingdom, and the Louisville Zoo. One of these partners, Kosair for Kids, recently awarded us a grant of $260,197 to supply equipment for our residents in our Kosair Charities Pediatric Convalescent Center. These funds will go directly to providing life sustaining items like ventilators and wheelchairs for our residents with complex medical needs.
Our convalescent center provides excellent care to our residents. In addition to meeting their everyday needs, residents also participate in physical, occupational, and speech therapy depending on their needs. These funds allow our residents and team members to have the equipment they need and ensure our residents are thriving and meeting their treatment plan goals.
This year, Kosair for Kids will be celebrating its 100th year of service to the children of Kentucky and Southern Indiana. As Home of the Innocents has just celebrated our 143rd anniversary, it is an honor to partner with another organization that has a long standing tradition of serving children and families across the state. Thank you, Kosair for Kids, for partnering with us in our mission.
