August Volunteer of the Month
Stacie Provine, Communications Coordinator
Volunteer of the Month is awarded to someone who goes above and beyond in their role at the Home, exemplifying the values of Home of the Innocents in all the work they do and time they give to the children and families we serve.
Rick Cronin, Kosair Charities Pediatric Convalescent Center (KCPCC) Volunteer, was presented with the Volunteer of the Month Award for August. He began volunteering last year when he retired from his management position of 41 years. Despite not knowing many details about the Home at the time he signed up to volunteer, he knew he wanted to help an important cause.
Now, he helps the residents enjoy a variety of activities such as community outings and serves as a companion and friend to children by providing one on one time through reading and playing games. “I get to interact with the kids and try to make their day the best it can be,” he says of his volunteer work. “The kids give me more than I can give them.” We are so fortunate to have such an incredibly talented and giving volunteer and look forward to a continued relationship with him!
