The Kosair Charities Pediatric Convalescent Center (KCPCC) is a home away from home for 46 medically fragile children, ages birth to 21. Our skilled nursing facility provides short-term, long-term and respite care for children with severe developmental and/or physical disabilities, as well as ventilator dependency.
Each child receives individualized care from an experienced team of doctors, nurses and therapists. But our care goes well beyond just meeting the medical needs of each child. On a daily basis, the children who live at the Kosair Charities Pediatric Convalescent Center are given educational opportunities at community schools and in our on-site school room. Plus, children enjoy fun activities such as swimming, creating art projects, even learning ballet.
Families also play a vital role in the development of their children. From our open visitation policy to total involvement in the child’s treatment program, we become an extended part of each of the children’s family.

This is done by identifying and correcting potential problems related to inappropriate and illegal conduct in the areas of quality of care, resident rights, billing and cost reporting, employee screening and kickbacks, inducements, and self referrals. The Corporate Compliance Officer can be contacted through a confidential Hotline: (502) 596-1050.
